A limited-edition Japanese vinyl pressing of the original soundtrack to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is set to arrive. This special reissue faithfully recreates the classic Japanese artwork and includes an obi strip, with the record pressed on colored vinyl. Featuring the score from Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, directed by Irvin Kershner and first released in Japan in June 1980, the album is composed by John Williams and includes some of the most iconic music in the Star Wars saga. Highlights include the debut of “The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme)” and “Yoda’s Theme,” as well as memorable tracks like “The Asteroid Field,” “Han Solo and the Princess,” and “The Magic Tree.” The audio is sourced from the original 1980 soundtrack recordings and has been newly remastered by Shawn Murphy at Skywalker Sound using the high-resolution 192kHz/24-bit master prepared in 2018.
